We’re progressive, but any guy wearing a skirt might as well put on heels. Kilts work with a sharp, fitted, dark jacket, but a matching skirt? Seriously… buy some lipstick.
Why not, Dan?
So, what’s the difference between a kilt and a skirt? Both of them are unbifurcated garments, like dresses, dishdashas, sarongs and all the stuff which is worn in parts of Asia, Oceania and Africa.
There are many small companies in the market promoting modern, contemporary kilts and “male” skirts.
By the way: In my opinion, a denim skirt does not really look feminine. It’s just a garment.
It’s true that in North America and much of Europe, the wearing of a skirt is conventionally seen as an expression of a female gender role. But any convention has been made eternally. Once upon a time, wearing pants must have been appeared in some womens’ imagination, otherwise they won’t wear anything else but skirts and dresses nowadays.
Here in Germany, the majority of women prefer to wear pants all year round. If you want to see many German women wearing skirts and dresses, you have to come over here on a hot summer day or at some festivities like Christmas - otherwise you may be completely disappointed.
So, if it is allowed to wear pants by women, wearing skirts by man can’t be an offence. I am doing so - and I have not been arrested so far. And, I can assure you that I have not recorded a sign of breast enlargement so far.
